The small cruiser "Wacht" sank in 1901 as result of a collision while a fleetmaneuver.

The "Wacht" was found by Viney Peglar in 1996 through calculating the position with the help of the 'Agency for Preservation of Ancient Monuments Mecklenburg Vorpommern', then confirmed by sidescan sonar near Rügen (baltic sea) just few hundred meters away from this position. The body of the boat is in goot state, the superstructure is not.
